Microblading is a semi-permanent procedure that allows artists to drastically correct, enhance, or fully reconstruct the eyebrow. Microblading is performed by manually depositing pigment under the top layer of the skin with a special hand tool. Unlike traditional tattooing, microblading does not involve the use of a machine. The microblading technique involves drawing individual, crisp hair strokes allowing the overall look to be more natural.
Powderfill is the deposit of pigment all throughout the brow to give the illusion that you already have makeup on.
A Combination Brow is the combination of microblading and powderfill. This can increase the density of color and thickness to micro bladed brows if more is desired than just hair strokes.
How long do the results last?
Both Microblading, Powderfill and combination brow will last as long as they are maintained. These treatments are considered semi-permanent and will not wash off, but will fade over time. I recommend getting a maintenance session, color boost, every 6-12 months. Untouched, the ink will last anywhere from 1-2 years.
The frequency of touch ups needed depends on a few variables including but not limited to; iron deficiency (pigment is an iron oxidize base and body will absorb this much quicker if iron deficient), lightness of pigment used (lighter colors tend to fade quicker), sun exposure (the more sun exposure on the treated area will not only make it fade quicker but can also alter the color), treatments (chemical peels, lasers, topical retinols or anti-aging products will make the pigment fade quicker).
Final results can not be guaranteed, everyone is unique and heals differently. I will work with you and reassess your brows to get your desired results. Hair strokes may heal more crisp on dryer skin types, and oily skin types may fade quicker and/or can blur. This also does not mean that they will, everyone heals uniquely. The complimentary touch up allows me to evaluate how your skin is accepting the pigment and I will make any necessary adjustments then.
What is the recovery time?
There is no downtime, however the brows will take about one month to fully heal. The brows will soften in color up to 40%-50%. During this period, after-care procedures should be carefully followed.
What is a Touch-Up?
The touch-up session, done between 8-12 weeks after initial treatment, is extremely important to ensure best results. I use this session to make adjustments if needed, make sure the brows are evenly saturated with pigment, and make any changes the client desires. Changes like thickness, density, and darkness are discussed at the touch-up.
What is a Color Boost?
A color boost is the recommended maintenance session that should be completed every 6-12 months to maintain desired brows best. This session is similar to the touch up session, allowing me to freshen up the shape, pigment, and density.
Is it painful?
There is some discomfort associated with the procedure. A topical anesthetic is used to numb the area before and during the procedure. People say the sensation is comparable to getting threaded, waxed, or tweezing.
